No-power electronics
Commissioning of the next generation readout electronics for an ILC hadronic
calorimeter (AHCAL). The AHCAL readout electronics is based on the latest
developments at the technology frontier of chip design. Ultra integrated
electronics has to be inserted in between active and passive material of a
sandwich calorimeter. A dedicated chip design provides high level of
zero suppression and multiplexing, analog and digital treatment of signal,
auto-trigger and power pulsing functionality, and in addition event time stamp.
A new design of a calorimeter layer is ongoing to fully exploit and test the
chip performance.
