From frank.gaede@desy.de Tue Sep 25 15:28:17 2007 Date: Tue, 25 Sep 2007 15:28:08 +0200 (CEST) From: Frank Gaede To: Paulo Mora de Freitas Cc: Jenny List , Hengne LI , Frank Gaede , Ties Behnke , Philip Bechtle , Steve Aplin , Henri Videau , Gabriel Musat , Adrian Vogel , Bogdan Pawlik , Predrag Krstonosic , Roman Poeschl Subject: Re: LDC detector description in Mokka Dear all, here is a short summary of today's meeting: - general agreement that we need a current description of the LDC detector in Mokka along the lines of Henri's LDC_v5 - general features like #layers, materials, sizes (geometry) are important - minor details can be improved/agreed upon/modified later - presentation from Paulo, Hengne and Adrian about their latest supdetector drivers - detailed, discussion on subdetectors: + VXD: current model (D.Granjean) with realistic VTX (ladders) is Ok + FTD: known slopyness in material definition (8g/cm3SI), however good for now (need input on details of Si/Support material thickness from experts) + SIT: new driver from Hegne with correct Si/support material, material budget reduced to .5 % X0 from 1.2 % X0 (stiil cylindrical approximation - need input from SILC for more realism in a future release) + TPC: current driver (from Adrian, material improvements from Predrag) is OK (Note: I checked with Alexei that his FullLDCTracking can work with this driver, however slightly optimistic results as #hits/track is overestimated - original tacking studies where carried out with very old driver (one hit per pad row) ) + ETD: old implemtation from Adrian exists - need some numbers (material technology) from Lee Sawyer (Ties will check) + Ecal: new driver from Paulo with Si wafers and gaps properly described (fibre+ ring) and faster Endcap (no boolean volumes) + HCal: new driver from Paulo, with 3 modules and Hcal ring close to endcap needs to be revised by Calice: - 3 or 2 modules (projecting gap at theta=90deg) - position of Hcal ring (endcap vs. barrel) if close to barrel: is it part of barrel (no module boundary) - ... + coil: current driber probably Ok - Paulo will check numbers + Yoke: current driver from Predrag is Ok for now - need so. responsible for this in the future + Adrians drivers come closest to the geometry of LDC v5 (ECal ring is missing) however no instrumentation in LCal. Adrian will update his driver by removing the (dead) LCal and combine with Bogdans instrumented LCal. - follow up meeting in two weeks (during EUDET) meeting Paulo: could you please create a test model in the database with the following subdetector drivers: vxd01, ftd01, tpc07, yoke03, SCoil01 ( current from LDC01_02 ) plus sid01 (hengne's new driver) ecalXX ( your new driver ) hcalXX ( your new driver ) maskX01, tubeX01, fieldX01: from Ardrian's MDI model (Adrian should have sent you the appropriate database parameters a while ago - they don't seem to be in the db yet, however) preferably an Sc and an Rp model ? With this model (LDC01v5_tst ?? ) we can address the opene issues and give this to the experts (Hcal,...) for cross checking and further development. Cheers, Frank.
